The Hiring our Heroes (HOH) Corporate Fellowship Program, which is run by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, provides transitioning service members with professional training and hands-on experience in the civilian workforce. The professional development offered through the program provides veterans with job search resources, career counseling, and networking opportunities.
The HOH program also works with employers to help them understand the unique skills and experiences that veterans bring to the private sector, and to connect veterans with job opportunities that match their qualifications and help ease the transition from military to civilian life. IntelliDyne is proud to host Business Development Corporate Fellow, Lt. Neville S. Willoughby. Learn more about Lt. Willoughby’s experience at IntelliDyne and the benefits of the HOH program below.
What do you hope to accomplish or learn from your Hiring Our Heroes Skillbridge Fellowship with IntelliDyne?
I hope to gain the knowledge, experience, and insight that I will need to become an invaluable asset to the company. Additionally, I want to learn about and adapt to the organizational culture, so that I can build upon my interpersonal relationships with the staff.
What do you think makes IntelliDyne a great place to work?
I’ve always said that the people make (or break) any organization and can make any job, no matter how complex or challenging, enjoyable. My early impression of IntelliDyne is that I am surrounded by people that genuinely respect and value each other.
Tell us about the benefits of the Hiring Our Heroes Skillbridge Program.
Hiring Our Heroes significantly increases the quality of a Skillbridge experience by providing structure, guidance, networking, and learning opportunities throughout the program. Instead of simply joining a company as an individual fellow or intern, you’re placed in a cohort of over 100 people who meet every week to discuss and share their experiences while in the program. The HOH Program Managers are extremely helpful and invaluable resources that we can lean on to ease a lot of the angst we have surrounding our transition to industry.
What are you enjoying most about your Internship at IntelliDyne?
So far, I just enjoy learning about everything the job entails and working with great people while doing it.
What is one unique or fun fact that others may not know about you?
I was named after my father’s uncle, Neville Willoughby, who was a famous radio personality/actor/singer/author in Jamaica.
