The 2024 Defense Health Information Technology Symposium (DHITS), coming August 20-22 to the Hyatt Regency in Dallas, Texas, brings together government, military, and industry leaders from across the Military Health System (MHS). With a focus on “Capitalizing on an Interconnected Military Health System,” DHITS 2024 provides a platform to discuss the latest advancements in healthcare IT and their impact on patient care for our nation’s joint forces.
What to Expect at DHITS
The annual three-day conference, sponsored by the Defense Health Agency (DHA), draws about 2,500 attendees from the government and military, as well as industry healthcare information management (IM) and information technology (IT) professionals. This collaborative conference for MHS leadership, staff, and industry partners is designed with a variety of formats to discuss new approaches, innovations, and guidelines, all in support of the DHA’s vision to serve U.S. joint forces with excellence in healthcare, and improved patient care, provider experience, and operational efficiency.
Reviewing the DHITS Agenda in advance will allow attendees to identify the sessions most relevant to them and their organization, and to plan visits to the exhibit hall between sessions. Session format types include plenary events, roundtable discussions, and breakouts in seven tracks including Cybersecurity, CIO, Enterprise Standardization, Innovation, Data Analytics, Health Informatics, and Operational Medicine.
Attendees looking for extracurricular activities are encouraged to check out the DHITS Service Day on August 19 before the Symposium officially gets underway and don’t miss out on the networking opportunities!
