What is your role at IntelliDyne?
I am the Director of DOD Programs, overseeing department leads in Task Management, End User Support, Information Assurance, and Service Operations.
What about your job makes you jump out of bed each morning?
My team and the people I work with! We consistently provide a high level of service and my team members want to do great work for our clients. They understand the mission and have the know-how to knock out any projects and challenges thrown their way. Working with a team at this professional level makes me feel like I’m part of a well-oiled machine. I never want to be the one dragging things down or preventing us from providing the high level of service that we’re known for.
What influenced or drove you to become an expert in your field?
I have a drive to understand how the big picture comes together. I wanted to know more about why certain things were done, how they could be improved, and be able to recognize who was consistently doing excellent work and who was coasting by. While I don’t think this made me an expert, I do feel it allowed me to better relate and understand my team and the client.
What was your dream job growing up?
I wanted to be an architect! The idea of designing something from the ground up and seeing your vision come to fruition was very appealing. That theme has stayed with me but the “how” has changed overtime.
How has your career progressed at IntelliDyne?
I started as a Help Desk Technician in 2011. I moved up from a tech to a Team Lead, worked for a short time as a Project Manager, and then moved to Call Center Manager. From there, I moved to Help Desk Manager overseeing Tier 1 and Tier 2 and in 2016 moved into a Service Operations Manager role. After that, I took on Program Management of some of IntelliDyne’s smaller programs, served as Deputy PM, and recently transitioned to my current role as Program Manager for IntelliDyne’s largest contract in August, 2020.
How have you taken ownership of advancing your career at IntelliDyne?
Understanding your current position is essential. I asked a lot of question and did a lot of research to build the understanding of how to do things and why we did them (and took notes). I volunteered to create documentation, assist on projects, and asked to cross-train once my major responsibilities were completed. Becoming the “go-to” guy to get things done was a personal goal of mine. I took advantage of IntelliDyne’s Tuition Reimbursement Program to pick up certifications in ITIL and my PMP to expand my knowledge of operations outside of technical skills. Additionally, attending IntelliDyne’s Master Classes provided great opportunities to hear from successful leaders and managers. Combining insight and information from these areas really helped build my abilities and skillset to advance my career.
What are 3 words you’d use to describe IntelliDyne?
Dedicated, Client-focused, High-quality
Which one of our corporate values is the most meaningful to you?

It is necessary to build trust and loyalty. Having a committed team ensures the job gets done, it drives satisfaction with the client, and is greatly appreciated by those around you.
What is one unique or fun fact that others may not know about you?
Once a year I get together with a small group of friends in Blacksburg, Virginia for a river camping trip. We float down the New River with kayaks and canoes and camp out overnight on an island in the middle of the river. We make a big fire, catch up on what’s happened throughout the year, stay up late into the night, and solve all the world’s problems. It’s a great getaway and each year I come back loving nature and appreciating air conditioning.
