How long have you been with IntelliDyne, Buttons?
I’ll be celebrating 15 years this December!

Can you share a memorable project or accomplishment from your time at IntelliDyne that you’re particularly proud of? What made it stand out for you?
My most memorable project at IntelliDyne was the configuration and rollout of a process-based CM system for the Department of Justice (DOJ) information systems and applications. This organizational change involved diverse stakeholders with numerous requirements for development, version control, integrated builds, and change and release management. It was one of the biggest and most enjoyable collaborative efforts I’ve led. Through joint application requirements and design sessions with iterative development cycles and a customer-first approach, we successfully implemented a fully configured and operational system that met stakeholder needs and benefited the agency.

As for my most memorable accomplishments within IntelliDyne, achieving our first couple of CMMI ML3 appraisals in 2009 through 2016 followed shortly by our first ISO 9K in 2017 and ISO 20K and 27K in 2018 certifications stand out. Transitioning from the CMMI Development model to the Services model aligned nicely with IntelliDyne’s goal of ITIL’s Service Management best practices. Achieving ISO 9K in just four weeks in 2017 was particularly impressive, and adding the 20K and 27K appraisals was a significant achievement. These operational initiatives were a lot of hard work but also a lot of fun. These are some of my proudest moments not only because we were successful and gave it our all, but because I think they exemplify our values, provided a roadmap for executing our mission, and reflected our commitment to excellence and customer value.

How has your role evolved since you first joined IntelliDyne, and what were some key moments or projects that contributed to your growth?
When I first joined IntelliDyne almost 15 years ago, I started as a Configuration Manager, implementing enterprise-wide configuration management best practices and a centralized CM system for the DOJ automated information systems and applications. Over the years, my role has evolved significantly, allowing me to provide technical support to nearly all of our clients and obtain and sustain our organizational CMMI appraisals and ISO certifications.

In addition to my focus on configuration management, I have applied and honed my expertise in capability maturity, workforce performance optimization, and process improvement. Working on various contracts has given me the opportunity to experience diverse IT environments and develop extensive skills in creating and implementing business processes aligned with industry best practices, including CMMI, ITIL, PMBOK, ISO 9001 for quality, ISO/IEC 20000-1 for IT service management, and ISO 27001 for information security.

Exposure to multi-layered and a variety of services, platforms, technologies, and development lifecycles—from parallel to concurrent to iterative, Agile, and Scrum—has enriched my perspective. These experiences have taught me to understand, seek out, and integrate different approaches while adhering to requirements and service management best practices. It has strengthened my ability to see the big picture and focus on detail-oriented methods as-needed to achieve valued outcomes and provide exceptional services to clients and other stakeholders.

Key moments in my growth include working on projects that pushed me out of my comfort zone, challenging me to think out of the box and develop new methodologies. These experiences have been instrumental in developing my ability to tailor processes effectively and adapt to different environments, ultimately contributing to my professional growth and success.

What values or principles do you believe make IntelliDyne a unique and successful company? Can you share a story or example that illustrates these values in action?
One of the reasons I joined IntelliDyne was because of the company’s strong values. At that time, we had around four core values focused on integrity, passion, commitment, and teamwork. Although these values have evolved over time, our culture remains deeply rooted in them, emphasizing that success is not just about completing tasks but about how we internalize and perform our responsibilities to each other, our clients, and our community.

Today, our values are “Integrity,” “Service,” and “Inclusion.” These values, along with the principle of “Go Above and Beyond,” define IntelliDyne’s unique and successful culture. Over the years, I have witnessed and been a part of delivery of quality services and solutions that have exceeded our client’s expectations. I have also seen and heard of many critical projects and restoration of IT services where team members have faced unexpected circumstances that required extended hours, initiative, unique skills, tenacity and innovative problem-solving. Even recently where there was a universal outage due to a virus prevention software, our team members demonstrated exceptional commitment to restoration of services with inclusion of all hands-on-deck. This dedication to integrity, service, and inclusion not only resolved the immediate issues but also showcased how our core values drive our success and set us apart in the industry.

How has IntelliDyne supported your professional development and career growth? Are there any specific resources or opportunities that you found particularly valuable?
Not long after I joined IntelliDyne, they supported my professional development by renewing my certification in Carnegie Mellon’s Capability Maturity Model (CMM). Over the years, they have continued investing in my pursuit of organizational and service capability maturity, service delivery management, and industry best practices. To date, with their support, I hold certifications as a practicing ITIL® 4 Leader and Managing Professional and ITIL® v3 Expert; CMMIv2 Foundations, Development and Services associate; as well as ISO Quality, IT Service and Information Security Management Systems Standards and Lead Auditor.

The specific resources and opportunities provided by IntelliDyne that I find particularly valuable include this support for obtaining and renewing certifications, as well as access to continual educational courses. IntelliDyne’s support in my career growth enables me to stay current and relevant with industry best practices and enhances my skills in the application and integration of various critical IT service and business management practice areas, processes, tools, methods and techniques.

Can you recall a time when IntelliDyne faced a significant challenge in the industry or market, and how the company adapted and thrived in response?
IntelliDyne excelled in its response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The company acted quickly and efficiently, maintaining frequent communication. IntelliDyne’s primary concern was the health and welfare of its employees, clients, and communities. Our leadership planned, directed, and implemented a coordinated response to manage the situation, address concerns, mitigate risks and impacts, and iteratively progressed with feedback and ideas from across the organization in an open forum. This approach allowed us to adapt and thrive during a challenging time.
