Tell us a little about your career at IntelliDyne.
I began working for IntelliDyne in 2022. My primary role is developing analytics and automation applications for the Department of Defense. I have also had the chance to work on exploratory data science projects and even compete in challenges like Mission Daybreak for the Department of Veterans Affairs.
What motivates and inspires you to continue growing and excelling in your role at IntelliDyne?
The Analytics team is small but has a wide range of expertise which has led to plenty of new opportunities and challenges that make each day interesting.
How do you contribute to fostering a positive and collaborative work environment?
My team is entirely remote and spread around the US, and distance can be isolating. I started virtual happy hours to discuss life outside of work and foster camaraderie.
In what ways do you actively seek professional growth and development opportunities?
The rise in online education over the last decade has made it so much easier to learn new skills and software. I began taking Massive Online Open Courses (MOOCs) in 2018 which eventually led to me getting my master’s degree in analytics from Georgia Tech. I was able to accomplish this entirely online while continuing to work full-time.
Which of IntelliDyne’s benefits are your favorite and why?
The education and training reimbursement incentivizes focus on improving employee skills which is critical to stay current in tech. I have been able to use these programs to continue to learn about AI and get certifications in new service and software offerings.
What kind of hobbies and interests do you have outside of work?
I love to cook Texas-style barbecue, primarily brisket and beef ribs. I have even competed in the barbecue state championship in Mississippi. My ribs finished fifth overall while my chicken made the other competitors look better than ever.
