We’ve arrived at the nexus of analytics and automation technologies. Your company or agency is probably already using analytics and one or more of the building blocks of automation—Artificial Intelligence (AI), Business Intelligence (BI), Machine Learning (ML), Robotic Process Automation (RPA)—each to meet a distinct need, support decision making, or improve a step in your processes. You’re employing ML and RPA to automate repetitive tasks, relying on AI to detect anomalies and issues, and support decisions in a BI dashboard that empowers you to slice and dice your data to test hunches, anticipate problems and determine the impact of change.
But we can do even better with Augmented Analytics. IntelliDyne merges analytics and automation technologies to help the federal government optimize resources to work smarter and more efficiently. We combine the strengths of analytics and automation into a single, powerful solution. Augmented Analytics takes a giant leap beyond the individual benefits of each technology by integrating them end to end: correlating data, finding anomalies, delivering actionable analyses, and acting on them in the best possible way.
With Augmented Analytics, your AI-detected issue is surfaced within your BI application where underlying supporting details can be reviewed. Then upon your confirmation, a simple press of a button will launch an RPA bot to automatically enter all relevant data to appropriate systems, such as a ticketing or case management system – greatly streamlining the process of problem identification and resolution. Augmented analytics enables your organization to finally realize the promise of prescriptive analytics — forecasting the future, determining an optimal course of action, and ultimately acting upon it.
Intelligent Assistant Powered by Augmented Analytics
Augmented Analytics is already at work in the federal government, improving performance and transforming the way people work to make more informed decisions and achieve optimal outcomes:
- Driven by analytics
- Informed by data
- Powered by technology
The U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) needed a way to simplify the IT administration and maintenance of their complex ship and shore-based computer networks. These networks are often managed by new recruits and have a steep learning curve. Given the nature of military assignments, available resources are in a constant state of rotation, with trained warfighters regularly transferred to other roles – taking “institutional knowledge” with them, launching a new cycle of administrators needing to ramp-up.
To solve these issues, IntelliDyne developed an intelligent assistant, a visual interface for DoD network administrators that surfaces network technical issues and helps IT administrators to resolve them quickly. Using data visualization, artificial intelligence, and automation, this solution combines a touchscreen interface with an AI engine to identify network issues, determine the best course of action for resolution, and present the solution to the administrator for action.
This solution also automates dozens of network preventative maintenance tasks through the use of bots that run at specified intervals or on-demand to perform system checks and cross-checks. These automations represent highly repetitive processes that help ensure the health of the network while virtually eliminating the need for human intervention. At the same time, the intelligent assistant digitally encapsulates the knowledge of how these tasks are performed – minimizing the impact of IT administrators who are transferred into other roles.
Augmented Analytics solves hard problems by making complex processes easier and minimizing time spent on highly repetitive tasks to free warfighters to focus on their missions. Combined with the ability to make quick decisions based on knowledge hidden inside massive amounts of data, it augments human capabilities of analysis, thereby making the work environment safer and protecting the military’s most important asset: our soldiers.
