What is your role at IntelliDyne?
As the Deputy Service Operations Manager at IntelliDyne, I am responsible to ensure that infrastructure services for our clients are operational. I also manage client projects, assign resources, and provide coaching and assistance to team members regarding day-to-day operations.
What about your job makes you jump out of bed each morning?
The opportunity to provide exceptional service to my clients and end-users.
What influenced or drove you to become an expert in your field?
I enjoy understanding how the systems and network environments work and relate to each other. I like cultivating relationships with our Operations team members, not just through their work skills but getting to know them on a personal level like what hobbies they enjoy, family life, etc. These details help to create a fuller picture of my work environment, including those I engage with every day.
What was your dream job growing up?
I did not have a specific dream job growing up, but I was inspired to get a B.S in Aerospace Engineering.
How do you motivate and inspire your team?
I am very transparent with my team members, always passing along important information as soon as it is received. I make sure to communicate and demonstrate IntelliDyne’s vision and values. I don’t make unilateral decisions; I involve my team and give everyone a chance to express their opinion. I don’t solve issues for my team, but I guide them to make decisions. Providing coaching for career development is also very important. I try to offer recommendations and opinions not as only as a manager, but as a teammate, or a friend. I make an effort to get to know everyone on my team on a personal level and show them how much they are appreciated and valued.
How do you support your team’s professional development?
I encourage my team to continue learning new skills and keep themselves up-to-date following emerging technology trends. I share any knowledge and/or new technology that I come across myself from attending conferences and trainings. I also encourage my team to do cross training with other team members.
What is your personal motto or mantra?
I make time to sit quietly and reflect. The silence helps to clear my mind so I can better focus on what things went right or wrong. Positive affirmations are very helpful as well.
Which one of our corporate values is the most meaningful to you?
All of them are very important to me, but I would choose commitment because it drives my interactions with my team and my clients.
What is one unique or fun fact that others may not know about you?
I played volleyball for Penn State during my sophomore year. I also played soccer for a Cambodian-American Soccer league for many years.
